#29 Beach In The World

Warwick Long Bay Bermuda is on the southwest coast of Bermuda, in Warwick Parish to the east of Horseshoe Bay Beach. As of 2017, CNN has ranked Warwick Long Bay as the #29 beach in the world. At over a half-mile long, Warwick Long Bay is Bermuda’s longest beach.

There are two large boulders located offshore at the western tip of the beach as well as several rocky outcroppings. These rocks can be climbed to get excellent photographs. The beach has a backdrop of cedar and grape trees as well as low grasses. There is a path connecting Warwick Long Bay to Jobson’s Cove, Horseshoe Bay Beach, and the other South Shore Park beaches.

Attractions & Facilities of Warwick Long Bay Bermuda

There is an inner reef at Warwick Long Bay Bermuda that mostly protects the beach from strong waves, making it a good place for swimming, even for children. Spicelands Riding Centre offers horseback riding along the trail connecting the South Shore Park beaches. Although Warwick Long Bay is Bermuda’s longest beach, it is not nearly as popular with tourists as the nearby Horseshoe Bay Beach and it is quite easy to find a spot to put up an umbrella. In fact, it is not usually busy at all with visitors frequently having the beach to themselves. Warwick Long Bay is frequented by locals jogging, dog walking, and walking.

Parrotfish can often be seen feeding along the water’s edge during the late afternoon. Snorkeling is excellent at Warwick Long Bay, however during low tide shallow reefs stick out of the water. These can be a bit difficult to navigate around.

Warwick Long Bay has public restrooms and a concession stand where one can buy hot dogs, drinks, and other snacks during the summer. There are also sometime mobile food vendors who set up at Warwick Long Bay. There is parking available and a children’s playground featuring swings, slides, and a climbing frame. At the parking area, a concession stand rents snorkeling gear from May to October. The beach is accessible by bus as well as car, bus number 7 can be taken from the nearby city of Hamilton.

There are several restaurants less than a mile from Warwick Long Bay that can be accessed by foot or by taxi. These include Bacci, Jasmine Lounge, Ocean Club, The Dock, The Newport, Waterlot Inn, Wickets, and Windows on the Sound, all located west of Warwick Long Bay.
Hotels near Warwick Long Bay include the Fairmont Southampton, the Reefs, and Surfside Beach Club.

The Fairmont Southampton is a large luxury resort that has received numerous awards. It features a golf course, spa, and six restaurants. It is also the closest of the three to Warwick Long Bay at just under a mile away. The Reefs is another excellent hotel, offering ocean views from every guestroom as well as a spa, restaurant, fitness center, and swimming pool. Surfside Beach Club is somewhat lower rated than the other two hotels but does have a swimming pool, spa, and free high speed internet access.
