Angle Beach is Only 3.5 Miles Away From the Capital

Angle Beach is located on the southwest coast of Bermuda in Southampton Parish. The capital city of Hamilton is 3.5 miles to the north-northeast. Angle Beach is part of the South Shore Park beaches and can be accessed by the trail that connects them by parking at the main lot of South Shore Park and walking south. Angle Beach is large and is the least rocky of the South Shore Park beaches although it still has a good deal of large rocks. The beach has natural rocky walls.

The water at Angle Beach is clear and calm, making swimming refreshing. There are no restroom available at this beach nor are there lifeguards stationed. No concessions are available at the beach. One should arrive early as the beach is located in a busy, active area of Bermuda.

Golf Courses and Lighthouse Are Nearby

There are two golf courses less than a mile away from Angle Beach: Turtle Hill Golf Club at the Fairmont Southampton and Riddell’s Bay Golf & Country Club. Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse is a mile to the west of Angle Beach. It is the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world and its 185 steps can be climbed to see a panoramic view of Bermuda’s coastline. Admission is free to the public, but visitors may wish to purchase items from the gift shop or visit the on-site restaurant. Visitors to Angle Beach might also consider taking a trip into Hamilton by taxi as it is close, but a bit too far to walk to. Hamilton has some of the most famous attractions and restaurants in the Caribbean.

There are several restaurants about a half mile west of Angle Beach Bermuda including Bacci, Jasmine Lounge, Ocean Club, The Dock, The Newport, Waterlot Inn, Wickets, and Windows on the Sound. Bacci is a fine dining Italian restaurant. Jasmine Lounge, Ocean Club, The Dock, The Newport, and Windows on the Sound are all informal restaurants. Wickets is the most casual restaurant and serves an eclectic menu. Waterlot Inn is a fine dining restaurant. Ocean Club and Windows on the Sound both serve Caribbean fare.

The closest hotel to Angle Beach is the Fairmont Southampton at just half a mile to the west. The Fairmont Southampton has received numerous honors from publications such as Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler. It has also received the AAA Four Diamond Award. It is a five star resort situated on 100 acres. It is a very large resort with a total of 593 guestrooms. The resort has a golf course, health club, six restaurants, a beauty salon, a spa, and complimentary breakfast. In room amenities vary by guests’ choice of room.
