Whitney Bay Beach Bermuda is located on the southwest coast of Bermuda in Southampton Parish, approximately three quarters of a mile south of Hog Bay. It is situated at the end of Port Royal Golf Course and can be accessed on foot or by golf cart. Typical visitors to the beach are guests of the nearby Pompano Beach Club hotel.

The beach is small and surrounded by rock formations and palm trees. The water is calm, clear, and shallow making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. There are no public restrooms available at Whitney Bay Beach Bermuda and there are no lifeguards posted so families with small children may choose to visit a different beach. The beach can become crowded with hotel guests so arrive early to secure a good spot.

Closest Attraction Of Whitney Bay Beach Bermuda

The closest attraction is the Port Royal Golf Course at the end of the beach. The course was founded in 1970 and is open from 7:30 a.m. until six p.m. daily. It annual hosts the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and is one of the best public courses in Bermuda. The property features both a driving range and a putting green. Another golf course near Whitney Bay is the Bermuda Golf Academy, just under a mile from the beach.

Whale Bay Fort is a historical site just a quarter mile to the southeast of Whitney Bay. The fort was built around 1750 to defend a channel that would be an offensive position against the Royal Naval Dockyard if captured. Visitors can climb the walls of the fort and explore its interior. Admission to Whale Bay Fort is free and it is open from sunrise to sunset.

Unfortunately, there are no restaurants within easy walking distance of Whitney Bay so if visitors are in the mood for food, a cab will likely have to be taken. The closest restaurants are located between two to three miles away from the beach. These restaurants include Coconuts, Ocean Echo, Royston’s, The Dining Room, Henry VIII, Arabian Palace, Cool Pleasures Ice Cream, Misty’s Take-Out, New Traditions Restaurant, Salt Rock Grill & Sushi Bar, Village Café, and Woody’s Drive Inn Two.

Coconuts and The Dining Room both serve the Caribbean and International cuisine. Coconuts is located at The Reefs Hotel & Club and is open for both lunch and dinner. The Dining Room is situated next to a bright white lighthouse and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant also offers pizza for take-out.

Pompano Beach Club is the closest hotel to Whitney Bay, just a quarter of a mile away within easy walking distance. Pompano Beach Club was voted one of the “Top 15 Resorts in the Atlantic” by Conde Nast Traveler readers. The resort is a fairly large property with a total of 120 guestrooms. All of the rooms have a private patio or balcony. The resort features live entertainment nightly, a spa, a private beach, a game room, a beauty shop, and on-site dining options. In-room amenities vary by guests’ choice of room.
